Alex George in the studio

Alex George is an experienced instructor who teaches drawing, painting, and sculpture to both adults and children in museum-based and classroom contexts.

After completing a BA in Art and Art History from the College of William and Mary, she earned her MA in Art Education from the University of Texas at Austin.

Following graduate school, she served as the Artist Educator for Mexic-Arte Museum, which allowed her to travel around Austin teaching various types of artmaking with a focus on printmaking and collage. Her next destination was the Art School at the Contemporary Austin at Laguna Gloria, where for years she taught Beginning Drawing, Intro to 2D Art, and Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain.

These days, Alex is an art teacher for 4th and 5th graders at Hyde Park School, conducts art workshops at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, and will be teaching a drawing class at The Mosaic Workshop in summer 2024.
